The Norwell 7th grade boys basketball team pulled off an impressive comeback victory on Tuesday night, overcoming a three-quarter deficit to defeat the DeKalb Barons 37-30. Trailing for much of the game, Norwell turned up the intensity in the final period to rally for the win. After three quarters of back-and-forth play, the Barons held a narrow 25-22 lead heading into the final stanza. However, a strong defensive effort and key offensive contributions in the fourth quarter helped the Knights close the gap and eventually take control of the game. Gabe Gerber was the standout performer for Norwell, coming off the bench to score a team-high 13 points, including several crucial baskets in the fourth quarter. Oakley Bryant also had a solid game, contributing 8 points, while Blake Fuess added 5 points to the winning effort. Wesley Dafforn and Jace Reinhard both chipped in with 4 points each, and Paxton Frisch added 2 points. Weston Harris rounded out the scoring with 1 point. The Norwell 8th grade boys basketball team delivered a dominant performance on Tuesday, defeating the DeKalb Barons 45-24. From the opening tip, the Knights displayed strong defense and efficient offense, leading to a convincing victory. Titus Jacob led the charge for Norwell with 9 points, while Griffin Bailey added 8 points to the effort. Benji Lukins also contributed solidly, scoring 8 points. Miles Daugherty chipped in with 6 points, and Maddux Thornton added 3 points to help secure the win. In addition, several players made important contributions off the bench, with Cruz Bolinger, Case Wireman, Landon Clark, Cody Waldman, and Ben Captain each scoring in the balanced effort. The Knights will return to action on Monday, November 25th when they host the New Haven Bulldogs for a 5:30pm 7th grade tip.
