The Norwell Knights middle school girls swim and dive team put together a dominant performance last night, capturing the NE8MS Conference Championship with a team score of 312 points, well ahead of runner-up Bellmont (248). Huntington North (215), East Noble (198), Indian Springs (136), and DeKalb (132) rounded out the field. Norwell’s depth and consistency across all events proved to be the difference, as the Knights piled up top finishes and key points in both the pool and on the diving board. Leading the way was Dara Nusbaumer, who delivered a standout night with a conference championship in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 2:33.10. Nusbaumer also added a runner-up finish in the 400-yard freestyle (5:26.00), helping anchor Norwell’s distance events with valuable points. Naomi Falk also claimed a conference title for the Knights, winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:24.82. She was also part of the strong 200-yard medley relay team alongside Hadassah Falk, Khloe Bertsch, and Dara Nusbaumer, which placed second with a time of 2:21.58. Khloe Bertsch contributed individually with a second-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (34.92), continuing Norwell’s trend of high finishes across strokes. In relay action, the Knights showed their depth. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Miracle Perez-Nelson, Alyssa Stevenson, Sophia Glossen, and Emmalee Scott secured second place in 2:07.33, adding another big point total to the team score. On the diving board, Sophia Glossen delivered a strong performance, finishing second with a score of 144.75 to give Norwell an early boost.
