Norwell Swimmers Split Against South Adams

The Norwell Knights Middle School Swim & Dive team split its meet with the South Adams Starfires, as the Norwell boys earned a convincing 116–34 victory while the Norwell girls fell 102–84 in a competitive contest. Norwell’s boys team delivered a dominant performance in the pool, collecting numerous first-place finishes throughout the evening. The Knights opened strong with a win in the 200-yard Medley Relay, as Parker Kopp, Elias Nussbaum, Bryce Grant, and Canyon Aschliman combined for a time of 2:17.24. Individually, the Knights were led by several multi-event winners. Parker Kopp captured first place in the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:15.44 and also won the 50-yard Butterfly in 32.44. Canyon Aschliman added victories in the 50-yard Freestyle (30.94) and 100-yard Freestyle (1:13.15), while Bryce Grant finished first in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 2:34.27. Elias Nussbaum also had a strong meet, winning the 400-yard Freestyle in 5:28.34 and the 100-yard Breaststroke in 1:21.84. Ivan Bales earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 1:38.79. Norwell’s relay teams continued the momentum as Jensen Oakleaf, Ivan Bales, Findlay Oakleaf, and Korbin Fritts won the 200-yard Freestyle Relay in 2:15.04. The Knights closed the meet with another relay victory in the 300-yard Freestyle Relay, where Bryce Grant, Parker Kopp, Elias Nussbaum, and Canyon Aschliman touched first in 3:18.03. In diving, Findlay Oakleaf secured first place for the Norwell boys with a score of 86.70. On the girls side, the Knights battled throughout the meet but ultimately came up short against South Adams. Norwell still produced several standout performances. Sophia Glossen captured first place in Girls Diving with a score of 88.80. Dara Nusbaumer was a double winner for the Knights, taking the 200-yard Freestyle in 2:31.22 and the 400-yard Freestyle in 5:20.79. Miracle Perez-Nelson added a victory in the 50-yard Freestyle with a time of 31.55, while Khloe Bertsch earned first place in the 50-yard Butterfly in 34.81.
