Norwell Swimmers Defeat Indian Springs & DeKalb

The Norwell Girls and Boys Swim & Dive teams turned in dominant performances Tuesday night, sweeping both Indian Springs and DeKalb in impressive fashion. The Norwell girls defeated Indian Springs 112-60 and DeKalb 120-48. The boys were equally strong, topping Indian Springs 109-51 and DeKalb 116-24. In diving, Sophia Glossen led the way for the Lady Knights with a first-place score of 96.80, while Findlay Oakleaf captured the boys title with an 81.35. Norwell’s relay teams set the tone early. The girls 200-yard medley relay team of Hadassah Falk, Naomi Falk, Khloe Bertsch and Miracle Perez-Nelson claimed first in 2:27.75. The boys medley relay squad of Logan Craig, Parker Kopp, Bryce Grant and Elias Nussbaum followed with a win in 2:15.14. Individual highlights for the girls included Miracle Perez-Nelson in the 50 freestyle (32.23), Khloe Bertsch in the 50 butterfly (36.96), Emmalee Scott in the 100 freestyle (1:16.48), and Naomi Falk in the 100 breaststroke (1:25.97). The 200 freestyle relay team of Hadassah Falk, Sophia Glossen, Naomi Falk and Dara Nusbaumer touched first in 2:17.22, while the 300 freestyle relay team of Alyssa Stevenson, Dara Nusbaumer, Khloe Bertsch and Perez-Nelson secured another win in 3:44.04. For the boys, Bryce Grant had a standout night, winning both the 50 butterfly (32.75) and the 400 freestyle (5:14.74). Additional first-place finishes came from Jensen Oakleaf in the 200 freestyle (2:38.85), Elias Nussbaum in the 100 IM (1:13.60), Carter Lloyd in the 100 freestyle (1:12.58), and Korbin Fritts in the 100 backstroke (1:34.61). The 200 freestyle relay team of Canyon Aschliman, Grant, Craig and Kopp won in 2:03.25, and the 300 freestyle relay team of Parker Kopp, Carter Lloyd, Nussbaum and Aschliman added another victory in 3:28.20.
