Norwell Swimmers Sink Braves

The Norwell Knights swim teams turned in a dominant performance Tuesday night, sweeping the Bellmont Braves in convincing fashion. The Norwell girls defeated Bellmont 114-62, while the Norwell boys powered their way to a 113-47 victory. The Lady Knights set the tone early and continued to build momentum throughout the meet. Caroline Haiflich captured first place in diving with a score of 82.00. In the pool, the 200-yard medley relay team of Hadassah Falk, Naomi Falk, Khloe Bertsch, and Miracle Perez-Nelson claimed first in 2:31.47. Naomi Falk had an outstanding individual night, winning the 100-yard IM (1:22.23) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:25.95), while also contributing to two relay victories. Miracle Perez-Nelson added a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (32.89), and Emmalee Scott touched first in the 100-yard freestyle (1:18.13). The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hadassah Falk, Shaelyn Reinhard, Naomi Falk, and Alyssa Stevenson won in 2:22.35, and the 300-yard freestyle relay team of Alyssa Stevenson, Dara Nusbaumer, Khloe Bertsch, and Perez-Nelson closed out the meet with a win in 3:39.41. On the boys side, the Knights were equally impressive. Findlay Oakleaf won the diving competition with a score of 77.70 and later helped lead two relay teams to victory. The 200-yard medley relay team of Logan Craig, Oakleaf, Bryce Grant, and Elias Nussbaum finished first in 2:25.88. Individually, Logan Craig won the 200-yard freestyle (2:32.56), while Elias Nussbaum claimed victories in both the 100-yard IM (1:12.69) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:21.16). Carter Lloyd sprinted to a win in the 50-yard freestyle (30.96), and Bryce Grant took first in the 50-yard butterfly (33.69). Canyon Aschliman won the 100-yard freestyle (1:13.47), Jensen Oakleaf captured the 400-yard freestyle (6:08.32), and Korbin Fritts added a win in the 100-yard backstroke (1:32.72). Norwell also swept the boys relays, winning the 200-yard freestyle relay behind Korbin Fritts, Findlay Oakleaf, Carter Lloyd, and Canyon Aschliman (2:16.23), and closing the night with a victory in the 300-yard freestyle relay as Bryce Grant, Logan Craig, Elias Nussbaum, and Canyon Aschliman touched in 3:23.68.
