7th & 8th Girls Basketball Advance Past Leo

The 7th grade girls Norwell Knights earned a hard-fought 41–35 victory over the Leo Lions, using a strong start and balanced scoring to secure the win. Norwell jumped out early, taking a 15–5 lead after the first quarter and carrying a 23–12 advantage into halftime. The Knights continued to control the game in the third quarter, extending their lead to 29–21 before holding off a late push by Leo down the stretch. Elissa Rosswurm led Norwell with 14 points, while Lily Gerdom added 10 points and Ella Ford contributed 9 points. Lucy McBride chipped in 5 points, Ruthie Bushee scored 2, and Val Lenwell added 1 point, as the Knights’ teamwork and steady play sealed the win. The 8th grade girls Norwell Knights turned in a dominant defensive performance, defeating the Leo Lions 34–10. After a tight opening quarter that saw Norwell hold a 4–2 lead, the Knights took control before halftime, extending the margin to 21–4. Norwell continued to build on that advantage in the third quarter, leading 26–4 and cruising to the victory. Camryn McCartney led all scorers with 15 points for the Knights. Emma Moon added 8 points, while Charlotte Smith scored 4 points. Paizley Price contributed 3 points, and Rylie Van’t Hof and Piper Krumma each chipped in 2 points. With the win, Norwell advances to the conference semifinal and will host Crestview on Monday, January 26th at 5:30 p.m.
