7th & 8th Boys Basketball Soars Past Summit

The 7th grade boys Norwell Knights earned a hard-fought overtime victory Monday night, defeating the Summit Falcons 32–30. The game was tight from the opening tip, with the teams deadlocked 4–4 after the first quarter. Summit edged ahead by halftime, leading 16–15, but Norwell responded with a strong third quarter to take a 23–18 advantage. The Falcons rallied in the fourth to force overtime, where the Knights made the key plays to secure the win. Ripken Bailey led Norwell with 13 points, while Eli Cassel added 7 and Barrett Dafforn chipped in 5. Connor Karst and Cohen Cober each scored 2 points, Talon Wireman had 2, and Max Norris added 1 to round out the scoring in the Knights’ overtime triumph. The 8th grade boys Norwell Knights earned a solid 41–31 victory over the Summit Falcons, pulling away after a competitive opening quarter. Summit held a slim 10–9 lead after the first quarter, but Norwell responded with a strong second period to take a 27–19 advantage at halftime. The Knights continued to build momentum in the third quarter, extending the lead to 36–25, and closed out the game with steady play in the fourth to secure the 10-point win. Jace Reinhard led all scorers for Norwell with 14 points, while Blake Fuess added 11. Weston Harris finished with 5 points, Oakley Bryant and Gabe Gerber each scored 3, Wesley Dafforn had 3, and Oakly Moser contributed 2 points in the win. Norwell returns to action on Thursday, January 8th at 5:30 p.m. when they host Maple Creek.
