7th & 8th Girls Basketball Run Past Riverview

The Norwell Knights 7th grade girls basketball team earned a dominant victory over the Riverview Raiders, cruising to a 41–5 win. Norwell jumped out to an early lead, taking a 19–3 advantage after the first quarter and following it up with a strong 16–0 second quarter to pull ahead 35–3 at halftime. The Knights continued their defensive effort in the second half, outscoring Riverview 4–0 in the third quarter and finishing with a 2–2 fourth quarter. Ella Ford led Norwell with 16 points, while Elissa Rosswurm added 11 points. Hannah Burt and Ruthie Bushee each scored 4 points, Pearl Smith and Valerie Lenwell chipped in 2 points apiece, and Lily Gerdom also added 2 points in the well-rounded team win. The Norwell Knights 8th grade girls basketball team turned in an impressive performance, defeating the Riverview Raiders 54–12. Norwell set the tone early with a 20–3 first quarter and continued to build the lead by outscoring Riverview 11–2 in the second quarter to take a 31–5 advantage at halftime. The Knights stayed in control after the break, winning the third quarter 13–3 and closing out the game with a 10–4 fourth quarter. Norwell showcased balanced scoring in the win, led by Rylie Van’t Hof and Ada Campbell with 10 points each. Charlotte Smith added 9 points, Camryn McCartney scored 6 points, and Emma Moon and Piper Krumma chipped in 5 points apiece. Annabelle Gill scored 3 points, while Jahnna Smith, Mercy Meyer, and Paizley Price each added 2 points. The Knights will return to action on Wednesday, January 7, when they travel to Summit for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
