Boys Basketball Split Versus Indian Springs

The Norwell Knights 7th grade boys basketball team battled throughout the game but fell to the Indian Springs Eagles by a score of 35–31. Norwell trailed 9–8 after the first quarter and was outscored 8–3 in the second quarter, heading into halftime down 17–11. The Knights responded with a strong third quarter, edging Indian Springs 11–10 to cut into the deficit, and continued to fight in the fourth quarter, where they narrowly outscored the Eagles 9–8, but ultimately came up short. Ripken Bailey and Eli Cassel led Norwell with 9 points each, while Connor Karst added 8 points. Jensen Hale contributed 3 points, and Max Norris scored 2 points in the loss. The Norwell Knights 8th grade boys basketball team earned a convincing 45–25 victory over the Indian Springs Eagles. Norwell controlled the game from the start, leading 9–6 after the first quarter and extending the margin with a strong 19–7 second quarter to take a 28–13 lead at halftime. The Knights continued their steady play in the second half, winning the third quarter 8–6 and closing out the game with a 9–6 advantage in the final period. Wes Dafforn led all scorers with 15 points, while Jace Reinhard added 13 points for Norwell. Blake Fuess contributed 7 points, Gabe Gerber and Oakley Bryant each scored 3 points, and Weston Harris and Oakly Moser chipped in 2 points apiece. Norwell returns to action on Tuesday, December 16th, when they host Adams Central at 4:30 p.m.
