Girls Basketball Sweeps Bluffton

The Norwell Knights 7th grade girls basketball team turned in a strong performance on both ends of the floor on their way to a 32–18 victory over the Bluffton Tigers. Norwell set the tone early, jumping out to an 11–1 lead after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 18–5 by halftime. The Knights continued their steady play in the second half, carrying a 24–11 lead into the fourth quarter before securing the win. Elissa Rosswurm and Ella Ford powered the Knights’ offense, each scoring 12 points. Lily Gerdom added 6 points, while Emmalee Scott and Valerie Lenwell each chipped in 1 point for Norwell. Bluffton spread their scoring across six players. Layla Kistler finished with 3 points, Brooklyn Stoller had 2, Naomi Fry scored 4, Callie Craig added 3, Mackenzie White put in 4 points, and Finlay Herrold rounded out the scoring with 2. The Norwell Knights 8th grade girls basketball team put together a dominant effort in their 49–26 win over the Bluffton Tigers. Norwell controlled the game from the opening tip, taking a 13–4 lead after the first quarter and extending it to 23–12 by halftime. The Knights continued to separate themselves in the third quarter, building a 38–18 advantage before closing out the victory. Paizley Price led a balanced Norwell attack with 15 points, while Camryn McCartney added 10. Rylie Van’t Hof contributed 8 points, Charlotte Smith scored 5, Mercy Meyer had 4, Jahnna Smith added 3, Piper Krumma scored 2, and Emma Moon chipped in 2 points to round out the scoring. Bluffton was paced by Adrienee Smallman, who scored an impressive 17 of the Tigers’ 26 points. Olivia Brown added 2 points, Alaya Reinhard scored 4, and Mackenzie White finished with 1 point. The Knights return to action on Monday, December 8, with a 7th grade–only game at Bellmont scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
