7th & 8th Girls Basketball Win Opener vs Jay County

The Norwell Knights 7th grade girls basketball team earned a strong 42–32 victory over the Jay County Patriots on Monday night. Norwell set the tone early with a 15–8 first-quarter lead and maintained control throughout with quarter-by-quarter scoring of 15–8, 7–7, 9–9, and 11–8. Elissa Rosswurm led the Knights with 14 points, while Lily Gerdom added 13 in a steady offensive performance. Bailey Meyer chipped in 5 points, with Ella Ford and Lucy McBride each scoring 4. Ruthie Bushee rounded out the scoring with 2 points. The Norwell Knights 8th grade girls basketball team turned in a dominant defensive effort on Monday night, defeating the Jay County Patriots 40–22. Norwell jumped out to a fast start with a 13–5 first quarter and matched that momentum with another 13-point second period to take a steady lead into halftime. Quarter-by-quarter scoring favored the Knights 13–5, 13–12, 4–4, and 10–1. Mercy Meyer led a well-balanced offense with 10 points, while Emma Moon added 9 and Piper Krumma contributed 8. Camryn McCartney scored 7 points, Charlotte Smith chipped in 4, and Annabelle Gill added 2 to round out the scoring. The Knights return to action on Wednesday, November 19th, when they host the DeKalb Barons at 5:30 p.m.
